Stylist Levels

At Rustic Salon, we understand the importance of finding a stylist who resonates with you, someone who doesn’t just cut your hair but understands your style and personality. That’s why we’ve developed a level system, designed to help you connect with the perfect stylist for your needs.

Our level system is a thoughtful blend of experience, advanced education, and service proficiency. It’s our way of ensuring that you’re paired with a stylist whose skills and expertise align perfectly with what you’re looking for.

Each of our stylists has been through a comprehensive training program, a testament to our commitment to excellence. This rigorous training isn’t just about honing skills; it’s about nurturing a deep understanding of hair artistry. It’s what sets us apart in the industry and ensures that, no matter which stylist you choose, you’re in the hands of a professional who’s equipped to create a style that you’ll love.

Which highlight service should I choose?

A Mini is best for face framing pieces or a small pop of blonde and is less than 10 foils. A Partial Highlight serves as a highlight retouch or a great option for adding contrast to the hair. A Highlight is for those looking to add a significant amount of dimension and lighten the overall look of their hair.  Finally Full Blonding is as it suggests, achieving total blondeness across the head. This service looks different depending on the amount of hair you might have and the original color. Platinum blonde is difficult to achieve in one session so we suggest a Color Consultation to plan ahead!

What is a highlight?

A highlight utilizes lighteners to lift the color from the hair shaft. It is a delicate process that requires accuracy and experience. Trust our team with your highlighting service, because we will be forthright about the risks of lighteners and help you navigate maintaining healthy, nourished hair, while loving your new color.

What does maintaining a highlight entail?

Your highlight will need maintenance based off of the rate your hair grows out and what your hair goals are. Generally after 2-3 months you will want to retouch your highlight. In the meantime the biggest antagonist to your highlight is brassiness, and this can be put off with proper product and hair washing habits.

What is the difference between highlights and lowlights?

Where highlights bring lighter contrast to your color, lowlights bring darkness and depth to your hair color. You can get a highlight and a lowlight for beautiful contrast. A lowlight is a permanent color service and requires no bleach, and it can be a great way to emphasize pre-existing color contrast in the hair.

How long does it take to get a highlight?

Our Highlight service is booked for 2 hours. A Partial Highlight is booked for an hour and a half and a mini (which must be booked as an Add-On) adds about 45 minutes to your service. If you have lots of length or thickness and need Full Blonding we suggest setting aside 3-4+ hours for this service.
